Turkey Earthquake Help

During the Covid-19 lockdown, thousands of migrant laborers in Rajkot and surrounding areas were left stranded without means to return to their hometowns. To address this crisis, Rakesh Rajdev, through his NGO Kanuda Mitra Mandal, stepped forward to provide train transport support. The organization arranged and financed railway tickets for workers and their families, enabling them to travel safely back to their native places. Alongside tickets, volunteers distributed food packets and water bottles to ensure that passengers did not suffer hunger during the long journeys. This initiative was especially important because most laborers had lost their jobs and income during the pandemic, leaving them without resources to arrange travel on their own. By shouldering the costs and logistics, the NGO played a crucial role in reducing hardship, restoring dignity, and reuniting families at a time of fear and uncertainty. The effort was recognized as a compassionate response to one of the most difficult humanitarian challenges of the pandemic.
